Stevens Urethane provides exceptional performance properties that make it ideal for many applications in harsh operating environments. It combines the elongation and recovery properties common to rubber with the chemical resistance properties associated with plastics.

Choosing the right grade

Two grades of Stevens Urethane tubing suit most applications. Other formulations are FDA, NSF and USP VI candidate grades. Fire-retardant and other custom formulations are also available. For more information email Technical Support.

SS-1485
A polyester TPU tubing with excellent physical properties and resistance to fuels, chemicals and high temperatures.

ST-1880
A UV stabilized polyether urethane with superb low-temperature characteristics and excellent hydrolytic stability.

Performance Properties

Bullet graphic Toughness Tensile strengths up to 8,000 psi, more than twice that of vinyls; outstanding tear strength.

Bullet graphic Burst strength High burst strength is particularly important for pneumatic applications. Suggested working pressures for Stevens tubing are roughly twice that of vinyl.

Bullet graphic Flex life/Kink resistance Polyurethane tubing withstands millions of flexes without significant loss of properties, and it is highly kink resistant. Available in durometers from 80 to 95 Shore A.

Bullet graphic Elastic recovery TPU tubing's high elastic "memory," together with tensile strength, permit joining to barbed fittings in low-pressure applications without the need for external clamps.

Bullet graphic Temperature resistance Stevens tubing withstands continuous exposure to temperatures from -65°F to 220°F (-54°C to 104°C) without deterioration.

Bullet graphic Abrasion resistance Polyurethane is highly abrasion-resistant, far more than other tubing materials. Excellent for carrying slurries and pastes.

Bullet graphic Chemical resistance Exceptional gasoline, oil and grease resistance, ideal for fuel and oil lines. Highly resistant to most other chemicals, and to oxygen and ozone.

Bullet graphic Easy to Fabricate Stevens Urethane tubing can be fabricated with a variety of methods including heat sealing and bonding. It can also be fabricated with TPU sheet for linked bladder and other applications.
